For those of you who don't know:

ROSH HASHANAH ... is a Jewish 'happy'  holiday ... its like the Jewish new year!

Why? cuz the Torah says so :D ...  its there in the book of Leviticus ... and apparently it is the day that man was created ! (given that in this creation account, creation started 5 days earlier).

I don't feel like bringing my Bible down and check, you can check me on my words online right?!

But here is what I remember from my Bible reading days:

In the book of Genesis (the first book of the Torah and the Old Testament) there are two creation account and the creation in both of those accounts are " Ex-Nihilo", which means creation out of NOTHING. According to the first account:

Day 1: Creation of LIGHT ... and then separation of light from darkness.

Day 2: Creation of the DOME (which becomes the sky) ... it is called the dome because he separates the waters above from the waters below (weird, but its a long story).

Day 3: Creation of LAND and VEGETATION ... (the waters below gathered in special places and land was created and then vegetation was put on the land and in the waters).

Day 4: Creation of the HEAVENS ... (stars, sun, moon, ... )

Day 5: Creation of the SEA ANIMALS and BIRDS ... and he BLESSED them (although im not sure if this group was blessed or not, meaning that he told them to be fruitful and multiply ... but it makes sense, any how .... )

Day 6: Creation of the WILD LAND ANIMALS and HUMANS ... and this group was for sure blessed

Day 7: obviously this day is the Sabbath ... the day of resting!

I like this creation account better that the second one (which is the garden of Eden, Adam, Eve, and the rest of it) because in this account male and female are both being created at the same time, which strongly suggests their equality of status; whereas in the second creation account Eve gets created from the left limb of Adam I believe, and she gets created because God felt that Adam was lonely !!!!

I said all of this to say that Rosh Hashanah is supposed to be this 6TH day of creation, in which humanity is created!
